Professionalism and Excellence in the
Practice of Family Law
The AAML was founded in 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Today, the AAML consists of almost 1,500 members in 50 states and the District of Columbia. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) was founded with the stated purpose, “to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected.”
Academy Fellows are leading practitioners in the field of family law. Fellows are recognized by their peers and judges as preeminent family law attorneys with excellent knowledge and skill. Each fellow has earned a reputation as being professional, competent, and of high integrity. Fellows have expertise in divorce matters, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, property valuation and division, alimony, child support, and child custody/parenting time. Fellows are competent to handle the most complex of family law matters.
